About St James
The Congregation chose St James (the Great) as patron saint as the first Anglican service on Fuerteventura took place on 20th July 2003 which fell very near to the feast of St. James. The first patronal service was held on 25th July 2007. St James was the elder brother of the apostle John. With Peter and John, he was present at the Transfiguration and at Christ’s Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane. He was beheaded by Herod Agrippa circa AD 44 (see Acts 12.2.) |
