Transport to Church ServicesThe Parish of St Laurence would like to ensure that anyone wishing to attend one of its church services, but unable to do so for lack of transport, has the opportunity to request a lift to and from the church. To this end, anyone needing a lift to and from church should telephone Ray Macfarlane-Archer or leave a message, on 928 845818 or e-mail him on reindeer@jet.es . Ray will then arrange for one of a group of volunteer drivers to drive that person or persons from their home to church and back again. All those involved will be asked to respect the following guidelines: 1. Lifts will be given to and from Anglican church services only. 2. Requests for lifts must be made to Ray (or left on his answerphone) by midday on the Friday preceding the Sunday in question, or 48 hours beforehand for a church service on any day of the week other than a Sunday. 3. Lifts can only be given to and from the church service nearest to the home or lodging place of the requester. 4. Anyone requesting a lift must give the full address of, and clearest possible directions to, their home or lodging place, and provide a contact telephone or mobile number. Ray will confirm to the requester when a lift has been arranged. 5. No charge will be made or accepted by the driver for any lift under this scheme. 6. Lifts can not be given to more than three passengers per car. 7. It is appreciated that an initial request for a lift to and from church could develop into a regular weekly service. Every effort will be made to accommodate such a need, but this cannot be guaranteed. 8. Lifts will normally be timed to arrive at the church 10 minutes before the start of the service and to start the return 10 minutes after the end of the service. 9. All volunteer drivers will have relevant insurance. 10. No smoking is permitted in cars provided for lifts. |
